H'mmm RMA--- Risk Management Alternatives. They are one of the circus of DCAs that BC use in their efforts to bring you to heel. From our accounts this is the standard heading for most of their correspondence, they hope you will mistake for the legal term Statutory Demand which is not.

I would sit on this one and see where they go next. By the way does it demand the full outstanding amount, monies not yet due or does it only require rectification of the DN?

    regards

Yep - keep us updated - they'll send you some terms, no agreement though

They say that "The balance is now due and Barclaycard demands that you pay the amount immediately". This is all despite Barclaycard writing to me a couple of weeks ago saying that they would deal with my request (Account in Dispute letter) and let me know the outcome "as soon as possible..." Left hand - right hand

They sent me an "agreement" which I emailed you but you said that the terms were not the original ones. Can you clarify what you mean?

Look at it this way billy, Barclaycard have dealt with your request, they have sent it out to RMA. Thats the way these cretins work mate. A good rule of thumb with BC or anything else to do with Barclays, they will never be seen to be the bad boy, they will always get some other grubby little piece of detritus to do their dirty work for them.

Thats good cos the way the accounts get sold means more chance of loss of paperwork - just see what happens yea? Don't worry about this, forget it all till after xmas.

The Barclaycard saga continues ... I have, as you know, four accounts with them now after takeovers, etc. I have received a letter with a reference on that I do not recognise, with the letter stating "I write further to your recent correspondence regarding your Barclaycard account." It does not state the date of my supposed letter or anything to relate this letter to any of my four accounts. It does go on to say that they have fully complied with their obligations Section 78 Carey v HSBC but doesn't say which account! Is this a ploy to get me to respond? My question is, which file do I put this letter in? What to do now

                                Hi billy,

BC are a real pain over things like this. You may find that your account numbers and card numbers change. Ours all changed during the DCA circus time but it is permissable so you have to be careful about correspondence from them when you are in a dispute. Without reading back some of yours came to Barclaycard when they acquired the companies concerned so they will screw around trying to get you to acknowledge by contacting them, or signing new documents. Don't is probably the simplest watchword.

                                regards
