  • More than one default for a debt?

    Hi Niddy, All -

I have no understanding at all of how defaults are supposed to work.

I have a DCA threatening to put a default on all three CRAs, but I thought if the original debt had been defaulted and a default recorded at the time of original default, that debt can only be defaulted once, surely?

Otherwise these debts will be on my file for over the 6 years period.

    Thanks for any advice!

Yep you're spot on, one default per account. If you have a copy of the old credit report confirming the default used to be there then great, if they do add one just complain to the CRA's who will have to remove it.
