    As both Gas/Elec bills are due, I missed the guy who came to take the readings, so I recorded them and sent them online.

    It works out that I am in credit at about £200 on the Gas and Just in Credit by £24 on the Electric this is after submitting the readings.

    I see now that Direct Line are contacting customers who cancelled mid term on insurance may be in line for a refund, not a vast amount but its the principal.

    Now I am wondering if this also includes buying another car and continue to stay with them, as new details of the car and documents...

    It looks like that the main energy companies are to refund if account in credit by about £5 or more and if you pay by direct debit.

    To date, my Gas it just over £300 in credit and my electric £200 in credit, but our quarterly bills are actually due next week.

    Last January when my hubby started his job he was on emergency tax , he got a refund for the amount they took after April , but was told he wouldn't get the refund for what they took before April .

    Does hubby have to apply for the refund or will it be automatically paid to him ?
