  • Upgrading bank account

    Hi

I'm looking at upgrading our bank account. If we apply are they likely to transfer out overdraft or could we lose it?

    Re: Upgrading bank account

    Hi Cym,
That's always a worry, I suppose it will depend on whether you're on good terms with them otherwise and if they do a credit check for the upgrade. See what Niddy or others say. Which bank is it?

      Re: Upgrading bank account

Can you elaborate - which bank account you have and which you want to upgrade to? So long as the account details remain, ie same a/c number then the balance inc any account score / overdraft etc will move with it.

Or open it as a new second account? Your choice.....

        Re: Upgrading bank account

I upgraded to the 123 account with Santander a few years back when I had several defaults and a CCJ against me. As Niddy said, mine was the same account number so they said nothing would change. I would ask your bank - That's what I did.

          Re: Upgrading bank account

Hi, thanks for the replies. It's a Nationwide Flex account with a £3000 OD. I would like to upgrade to the Flex Plus.

Just an update for anyone else in this situation. Upgrade successful with OD intact. £10 per month is a good deal as the benefits for this account far outweigh any other outgoings.
