    We are suffering now as the Pensions we saved for resulted in little to pathetic return, even as much as Gordon Brown instigated a rule that once you are 55 yrs old you cannot top up an existing pension but take out a stakeholder pension for the amount you wanted to top up, my case it was £10.00 per month on top of the normal payments into a separate account which was combined with the original on retiring for pay out purposes, less tax of course, after he had raided the funds earlier.
