What does ignoring this achieve please? Really don't want to ruin chances of purchasing own property in future. What should I do now? Thanks.
They are being extremely naughty here. You can't be just issued with a CCJ. They have to formally issue you with a claim, then it would have to go to court, and for them to win the case at court, and then the court would issue a CCJ. That is a long process and they have to have all the paperwork correct. As stated above, they are trying to frighten you.

        • Just wondering if anyone else had had this.

Received letter from Hoist this week stating that all rights on a former BC (alleged) debt had been assigned to them (with RW acting on their behalf?). But all this took already took place a few years ago and the alleged debt should be SB now anyway as the last payment was March 2012 and termination September 2012.

Have Hoist changed their name slightly or something? I don't understand why they would be contacting me again about this? (the assignment I mean).

I had hoped all contact would stop due to them noticing SB status?

Haven't check my credit report for years, was waiting a couple of months before raising my head above the waters again:-)

          • Hiya,

Hoist have restructered themselves, bit like transformers, so they are just making sure the correct process is followed, few of us have got them,
Mine is also SB along with it being UE ( never had a CCA) RW would still like me to make a payment, lol, mine has been assigned to HFUKH2L, with their appointed collection agent being RW, Same address as Hoist in salford.
They also have my Tesco account, also UE and SB not had a letter about that one yet, but I am also awaiting a reply to my complaint about a "field agent visit" for that one,
they don't appear to check on the status of the account, just keep asking for you to get intouch.

            • Many thanks for the update Nightwatch. Appreciated
Was thinking about doing my first credit check (for many years) in the next few weeks - wonder if this will bring about a flurry of activity - more begging letters/threats of court action from RW?

Interesting that they do not appear to check for default dates - how do they know when to stop bothering? These scammers must like wasting paper.
              Hay ho:-)

              • Yes I have had the same letter, however FOS ruled that Barclaycard were unable to comply with my CCA request, therefore unenforceable, plus now also statute barred. Don't know whether to write to them or not regarding processing my personal information. Not sure if they are trying to report my info to credit reference agencies as I never check.

                • Once SB and falls off your credit report, surely they cannot continue to report? There should be no platform for them to report to??.

Mine should now have fallen off my credit report. When i do poke my head above the waterline - heaven help them if they are reporting when they do not have the right to.

Having said that, i'd best research so that i know what to do in such circumstances:-)

                  • They cannot report 6 years (and possibly 1 month) after the default is registered. It works and is a lovely feeling to look at your credit file - this won’t stop them from playing silly games.

                    • I received the same Hoist assignment letter for a couple of SB debts and am in a similar position to you Realfedup in so much as I know I should check the default dates on my credit files as they are (should be) all SB now, but I'm also wary of putting my head above the parapet just yet in case it brings a new flurry of activity. But I'm also keen to start building my credit rating again so as I can turn the tables a little and take advantage of cashback/point type credit cards now.

                      • They seem to be transferring all the statute barred debts to this new Hoist company - probably for tax write off reasons
