    Hi

got to say I will have to go with Niddy's advice here.... I'm a bit luckier than you as I really don't like the people I am selling to (pah), obviously I don't want them having lots of shit either - but I am def not leaving them my new address - I will be putting on a mail divert - if they want to take on my phone number then that is their problem - I have always gotten a new number when i moved - and even then there is no guarantee that you won't get dodgy calls. Also worst case if a doorstep agent called they say nope sorry you have moved on - and he leaves nothing else to be done

sorry I know it sounds a bit harsh and selfish but sometimes you do have to thinkof yourself. I am sure they wont really get hassled

    good luck

The buyers have my mobile number, as do my creditors. If it's changed, I can't get shitty calls off either!

I don't mind if they get calls, because it would be their fault for not requesting a new number.

Doorstep callers, well that's just a risk I'll take.

So long as their credit won't be impacted by my legacy debt, then that's fine.

If they ask you for a forwarding address simply explain that a mail divert is in operation, IF any post gets to them addressed to you ask them to just put it in a letter box, hopefully it will get to you, via the divert, second time around.

Luckily I shouldn't have any more interaction with the buyers, since I'm out over the weekend, and they get the keys on the Monday from the Estate Agents. Sorted

Nice one..... have you not disconnected your phone prior to leaving? I always do that!

This a major problem people have when selling or buying, and why its best not to know the other buyers or sellers!

It is a business transaction and you must ALWAYS see it as that. When you're dealing with soooo much money try and keep emotions out of it.
For various reasons I had to know the buyer of my last house AND the seller of my new house. Both parites seemed lovely and we all got along - asking questions directly when needed, but you must assume they are ALWAYS out for number one, so you should be as well. For instance: my "lovely" buyer suddenly dropped her offer price by 10k on the day we were due to complete. Also the people I was buying off went completely mental nuts loopy when there was a delay, and lost the plot - dont underestimate the power of a family to look after their own when push come to shove!

Er......In a nutshell, F them! Your buyers will have minimal ( if anything) to deal with, but it will be a great help to your cause by severing all ties.

Not yet, I will be cancelling it shortly. Just waiting on my boss getting back to me about work installing phone lines and broadband ... which would be nice to save that each month!

                        Hi FF

I have just read your diary and it would seem that you are now on your way.

You really have made me chuckle with all your questions and its good to see that you have a sense of humour, 'cos you are going to need it......It seems daunting to embark on UE but believe me it will get easier when you have been going for a while.

Just remember to trust Niddy, 'cos he knows what he is doing, even when we don't know why.!! lol.......but it does become clearer and start to make sense.

We have been on the UE route for almost a year now, after being with Payplan for 2 1/2 years. We paid back more than £40k in that time - or thought that we had, but our creditors were still adding extortionate interest on and were still asking for more. So we thought 'bugger them' and we have never looked back.

There are a couple of things I have learned

                        1. Don't be in a rush to get things moving, let the Creditors take as much time as they want - until they supply a valid CCA agreeement - its UE.

                        2. Don't get involved in any telephone calls with DCA or the like, change numbers or just don't answer.

                        3. Don't stress out so much, I can worry for England, but believe me nothing is worth that.

Good luck and I will keep popping in to see how you are going on.

                        Elsie
