This is a very good point, has happened to me on more than one occasion.

Agreed. It is happening far too often and customers are once again being let down by an organisation they need to rely on.

So these are letters following an OD CCA request? Everything went in one envelope?

You could always send them again by Special Delivery. Yes, it is expensive, but when you divide the expense by four it is roughly the same as sending four separate RD letters. I know SD is not often advocated on here, but in exceptional circumstances it may be worth using it, for peace of mind alone.

I wonder if a thread might be started asking members to check whether the PO has put up delivery confirmation of all their (many) letters. If a significant number did not show delivery as confirmed, perhaps a mass complaint might be made to the appropriate place, to get them to get their act together and provide the proper service.

yes that's what it says, but my concern is that it couldn't happen to a worse dca as the one that i really wanted to have confirmation from as they are very deceitful and i fear they may be up to something

If you pay for recorded delivery and no signature is received when delivered (i.e it just shows as being delivered or anything like that ) then you get your recorded fee back from Post Office along with compensation for any value of letter....... as long as you have your receipt of course. Basically, you haven't received a service you paid for and they will refund you and compensate, just need a claim form from post office.
I hereby promise to treat Debt Collection Agencies with the same values that they treat me. UTTER CONTEMPT !!

I understand your feelings - perhaps on this occasion take up Scabhunter's suggestionto be on the safe side.

Is that so? That's very interesting, it seems I could be in line for a decent refund. It still doesn't solve the problem of having a confirmed delivery though.

                Thanks.

We did this on another thread...
It would appear that when a company receives its mail, instead of signing for every letter received they only sign the one....
I have sent dozens of letters by recorded delivery, on checking the tracking of mail its always shown as either still at original destination of postage, or still in the system...... that's weeks after sending....all of my mail has actually been delivered.
If there is one thing i have learn't its that a lot of dca's will either not respond or take an age to reply.
Any petition raised to highlight this issue with the post office i would be more than happy to sign...

When I was tracking a letter recently, it forever showed as "in the system" etc that was using this site
                        http://track2.royalmail.com/portal/r...ame=track_home

However somehow I came across this one

                        http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails

Which gave me a lot more info, basically that the letter was on it's way back to me.

Might be worth entering your details in the latter one just in case, why they gave different info I have no idea

I know this is off track but every time that it doesn't show as being delivered using the tracking system you can fill in a claim form and get a free book of first class stamps.

From any post office. I think it is 14 days before you can claim.
