    well its only taken them 19months 2 weeks approx. to come up with this they also enclosed a statement of account of the payments they received from the now defunk Debt management company (settle my debt) what they sent was 7 double sided pages of what can only be described as generic terms and conditions etc. had the wifes name and address alongside Halifax. However no signature of any kind I think they are just taking a punt here?

          • No not all the time, cabot still write to me asking for payment on one that is SB and UE not paid it since 2011, defaulted 2004,
            Hoist have two, the same dates, still contact me.
            as very few people write to me now, I don't like to stop them from the excitement they get from thinking I am suddenly going to pay them

                  This is what this forum has always been about, making sure creditors have their ducks in a row before they issue claims and time and time again we see successes. We use the law to protect ourselves. I have somewhere near 25 debts go SB - of course I did not plan any of that but when circumstances throw shit at you , you need to do do what you can to get out of it.

                    Cabot finally threw in the towel and closed the account when the debt became 'Prescribed' (i.e. Statute Barred).

                    What a pity they didn't close the account when they couldn't comply with your CCA Request in 2016. Instead they continued to chase you which included sending a field agent (Resolvecall) to your home which can be very upsetting.

                    It's all over now though - well done for holding your nerve throughout the process

                        What a nice thing to say - I see it as a privilege to be able to help forum members with their debts. Sometimes it only takes a phone call to change the mindset of 'victim' to a positive attitude from feeling empowered to fight back, since debt is not a career choice.

                        No one wakes up and says "Today I'll walk the dog, pick up the dry cleaning, and get into debt". Stuff happens usually through misfortune over which you have no control such as divorce, ill-health, and job loss.
