    Hi All,

    My wife had a credit card with American Express which she stopped paying some time back in late 2010. The account was sold on to Allied International Credit to whom she sent a CCA request. They replied saying they had requested the information from AmEx and would forward it on when received. The account has been bounced from one DCA to another with varying levels of threat. She has now received a letter from Firstsource Solutions UK Ltd advising they have been instructed by American Express to collect the balance. She has not received anything from them before. How should she proceed?

    Depends on the wording / threat level in the letter.

    I'd be tempted to send them a CCA as you have with the others previously.

      She should write and say "I've previously sent a CCA and it remains outstanding. See attached copy request dated xx/xx/xxxx"

      and send a copy of the last CCA request

      Or send a new request as Oscar suggests.
