    Morning All

Just some advice really , my wife and i , ahve been on UE route since December 2009 , with Niddys help (see diary in appropriate thread)

    My question is :

A)The two accounts are in my wifes maiden name

    and

    B)We are considering moving shortly

Considering that probably 3 in house barclay DCA`s have our address and Barclays themselves (also Barclaycard) also have it , do we tell them our new address ? and if we do , who do we tell , and in what manner ?

    Cheers

    Re: Moving House

I would keep your address quiet and use Royal Mail Redirect service so you still get letters.

Exactly that's what to do - use mail redirect and do not apply for anything, in a year or so she'll be kinda free to apply for credit again - however right now, do not register on the E/R - just wait til the next canvas.... ;-)

ok guys , thanks , so do some sort of re-direct for say a year ? or similar and see where we are at with UE at that point ?

Thing with ER is we will have to register as being there with the council so we will just appear on it at some point ?

Yea, do redirect and see what happens...

Nope, the council and the electoral service are independant, they do not share data between council tax and electoral registration. So you can be in a council house, getting HB paid and still not appear on the ER - that is for YOU to complete the proxy when they send it, it's not for THEM to do it.

You can ask for yourself to be Ex directory can you not so your name isn't appearing on it?

                    DGJ,

There are two registers held by the council one is the full version and the other is the edited version.

The edited version is for general sale to just about any tom, dick or harry where as the full version is just for elections and the CRA'S

There is a box to tick if you wish to go on the edited version, however the registration process is not compulsory and if you are not on it just means you cannot vote.

It does not effect council tax.

                    Hope this explains

                    Regards
