    Cabot

    Hello to all,

    Cabot have raised their ugly head again. 2011 Citi Financial sold my alleged debt 7=K to Cabot. Since that sale I have managed to get back several hundred pounds in charges from Citi and several K refund of PPI. (Seems Cabot want to share these gains with me LOL). After the sale I sent Cabot a CCA request to which they replied with a reconstituted agreement. I also at the same time sent a CCa request to Citi who also sent me a recon agreement that differed considerable from that sent by Cabot. (Maybe they make up their own).Citi indicated they could not supply a copy of the original. A CPUTR request was also sent to Cabot without any response and all went quiet until summer this year when Cabot sent a statement of account and ask for payment - ignored. This was a few weeks later by a 30% discount offer if paid within 14 days then this last week another demand for payment. Sent another CCa request in reply and a CPUTR reminder. Wonder what their response will be this time.

      There was no need to send a CPUTR reminder.... they know they can't answer you, which is why they haven't. I still get a Statement of Account from Alliance & Leicester, together with FOS "advice" re. making payment arrangements on a debt that was stat. barred last year. I just can't be bothered to tell them....

      Citi have told you they don't have an original, you've already had a reconstituted one sent through which can still be argued if it comes to it. The kind of reply you get from Cabot should determine which road to take but as you've already mentioned CPUTR to them, they should know that they'll need to be careful. Cabot don't like CPUTR.
      Remember the mantra:
      NEVER communicate by 'phone.
      Send EVERYTHING by Recorded/Special Delivery
      Keep a copy of EVERYTHING sent
      Keep hold of EVERYTHING received
      PriorityOne & CPUTR 2008 (ex P1 CAG CPUTR 2008)

        Cabot appear to have passed the details/file along to the next desk and a letter now received from Fire, which is where it is heading. They demand I phone them (yeah) as they are going to arrange collection. They should be so lucky.

          I Ignored the first 4 letter from Fire......Then sent them a SWID Letter .....nothing since.

            Priority One,

            Have not so far heard (tempting fate) anything more from Cabot/Fire since sending CCA request and quoting CPUTR. Seems they go and hide when confronted with these regs.
