  • Defaulted 4 years after last payment!

    Hi AAD

How would someone go about challenging a default that was placed on their CRF 4 years after the last payment made?

From reading up on here, defaults seem to be placed between 3-9 months after last payment.

it was originally believed that this debt had already been sold on, however it transpires the debt was passed to an in-house dca who over the last 4 years haven't done very much with the debt. The OC has now just sold the debt and placed a default.

surely 4 years later is just unacceptable?

if it's been sold on the new owner is entitled to replace the existing default with one of theirs but they need to maintain the same date.

what is the situation with this, is it being paid or are you utilising UE?

whatever you are doing daily checking of your CRA files is not a good idea
