Hi. Can the council get a ccj against you without us actually going to court?
They have just put it on credit file.....? We haven't been to court!? So are confused. We were not served any papers prior to this either. Help please. Thank you very much.

Sublet / business contract or agreement
Morning all!
I need a little bit of advice please clever folks!
I am starting work at a new venue on December the 1st. A friend who rents a shop and runs it solo as a tattoo parlour has agreed to me renting one of the rooms to run my body piercing business. Which is lovely...

hiya,
I have been asked to attend a course which costs £1800. Before the submit button it says that the cost in full is repayable if i leave voluntarily within 12 months.
Could they enforce this? I guess they would just attempt to take it out of last wages and then would be down...

Asking for a CCJ to be set aside
Hi all
I've made significant headway in the last year paying what I could afford to pay on existing debts (and seeing others slip into SB!) and I now have an almost immaculate credit file - except that is for a CCJ, which I satisfied last year....
The CCJ was as the result...

Council Tax Arrears
Hello All,
Just got off the phone to my local council recovery department and I'm fuming!
Almost up to date with payments but last months payment cheque bounced. (It was actually the banks fault that it bounced but that's a different story!)
I had contacted the council...

Who is to blame for car damage?
Last week my sisters car was damaged by a sign that blew off the side of the building where she works, the estimate for repairs is £900.
Her employers do not own the building they only rent it. (Do they have a duty of care towards employees?)
Should she be claiming from her...

Bankruptcy - What's In It For The Creditor?
Hi.
So, long story short, after being quite a bit in debt for several reasons, I went bankrupt in December last year. Since then, life has been great and hassle free.
There is one debt still ongoing though. I have not declared it. The reason being, I owe a friend £700, but...Last edited by eugenespeed; 21 February 2014, 22:39.

Statement of Account
Pretty simple question on this.
What should we really expect from the creditor when we do a CCA request?.
This is not something that you would think they could get wrong. And something that must be easy to put right. So not something I am hanging a hat on.
So say...

What can be included in BR?
I just went bankrupt on Friday. This is actually the first time I've been debt free for 7 years!
Something I wondered (It genuinely is just a query, I'm not going to do it!).
I've been reading I can not get a loan for over £500 without declaring my bankruptcy, but lets say...

SB Question
I have 4 outstanding accounts that I am not paying. The last payment on these was to the CCCS when I was in a Debt Management Plan. They then divvied up the money to my creditors at the time. The last payment I made to CCCS was in November 2007. My payment would have been made around the 27th/28th...

when a creditor sells a debt question
When a creditor sell on a debt and that dca can't get any money out of us because we fight them with UE , do they get refunded the amount they paid for the debt from the original creditor or is that money lost .
I'm just wondering because if each time the original creditor sell on a debt...

Self Assessment - Self or Accountant?
I've been working on a self employed basis for a couple of years now and have completed my own SA tax returns, but I've always erred on the side of caution when it comes to claimable allowances. Talking to others in similar positions, I most certainly claim a lot less than they do.
Before...

GE Money refusal.
Hi all,
I have been using another forum, but a friend has recommended here as I was struggling to get any help.
I am claiming PPI and unlawful charges from GE Money on behalf of my father. His loan was taken out in 2002 so pre-CCA.
I have done SAR so got...
