Thinking early July or Sept,me and hubby and daughter, son in law and 3 kids, one of them will be 18 months.Just want a nice family resort with a safe beach. Not sure what board yet, depends on price. Open to any reccomendations whether it be abroad(my preference) or here. Thanks

Re: Holiday ideas please
Can you get us good deals via your friends FP?
A price guide would be great. We'll then have a friends n family holiday thingy as I know a few users here that have left and they may well rent rooms/villas etc so no harm if it brings cheap prices to forum users.I'm the forum administrator and I look after the theme & features, our volunteers & users and also look after any complaints or Data Protection queries that pass through the forum or main website. I am extremely busy so if you do contact me or need a reply to a forum post then use the email or PM features offered because I do miss things and get tied up for days at a time!

Re: Holiday ideas please
Thanks. They all look lovely. Someone recommended Lagos to OH and we love the Greek islands but not tried Rhodes. Looks stunning. Never been to Spain believe it or not but guess a shorter flight would be good with a toddler.
Love the idea of cheap deals. See,a bit of a natters good in the right place eh Niddy???

Re: Holiday ideas please
We liked Torrevieja and went a few times as we had relations out there then. Short flight, good food etc but was when the peseta was king. Apparently much more expensive (relatively) under the euro. Not so keen on the Canaries, but it depends on what you are really looking for.
Saw much travelling around the world with jaundiced eyes as most was for work purposes.
Now I am to all intents and purposes restricted to the UK, we have had good times in South West Wales, little known spots on the Gower, and the stretch of coast between shall we say Saundersfoot and Swansea has some fantastic beaches and places like Pembrey Country Park where Cefn Sidan beach is 7 miles of flat sand, safe water and plenty for the children as well. Just a note that the country park is the old munitions factory and there is plenty of history to look into (why Garlok like Boom Boom).
We have enjoyed Norfolk a lot in the past but have noticed when looking to go back this year how expensive it has become when comparing.
Just a few thoughts.
regards
Garlok

Re: Holiday ideas please
we just love Northumberland, fabulous totally empty beaches, great history (castles galore) and lovely people. Not busy even in July/August eberything is handy on the coast. Warkworth is lovely, river/beach/castle/good pubs/wee specialist shops and Alnmouth is the perfect family resort, fantastic beach/old fashioned feel/wee shops/great pubs/nice tearooms and easy travel around the region. We alays self cater (big doggle) and have stayed in some lovely cottages will all mod cons and not that expensive in the scheme of things, just check what you want and make sure there is outside space. Can't wait for this year's visit

I fell in Love with the north east a good few years ago after a break in alnmouth..been over most of it since and enjoy every time we go, rented a cottage a few years ago only cost us around £300 for a couple of weeks...had to cut things short that time though with the foot & mouth outbreak
Had to drive through a checkpoint every morning to disinfect the car...except this one morning I forgot to close the drivers window..and you can guess the rest!
