Originally posted by evenlessdopey View Postwe just love Northumberland, fabulous totally empty beaches, great history (castles galore) and lovely people. Not busy even in July/August eberything is handy on the coast. Warkworth is lovely, river/beach/castle/good pubs/wee specialist shops and Alnmouth is the perfect family resort, fantastic beach/old fashioned feel/wee shops/great pubs/nice tearooms and easy travel around the region. We alays self cater (big doggle) and have stayed in some lovely cottages will all mod cons and not that expensive in the scheme of things, just check what you want and make sure there is outside space. Can't wait for this year's visit
