  • Anyone know the answer to this?

    Hi All,

I wonder if anyone can help me. Does anyone know if, when you are claiming Incapacity Benefit (by its old name) and you are applying for a redetermination of CCJ payments after losing a well paid job through ill health, you can get help towards the costs?

I was asked this afternoon, as I was helping someone who mentioned there is a £40 charge per CCJ on completing the N245 for a redetermination. He would need to raise £120 for 3 CCJ's, which realistically he can't do.

Any answers welcomed as I didn't have a clue!

    Thanks.

This needs to be applied for via the courts and not DWP.

Here is the form to apply and guidance on whether you have to pay them

You will need a .pdf reader to open it.

Absolutely brilliant Pompey, thank you. You have no idea how much this will mean to the bloke I'm helping - he has a slow terminal illness and is doing his best after losing a good job. He'd even resorted to selling personal belongings to raise money to pay the CCJ's which are currently based on his old salary.

        Thanks again!

          BBoo,

You are welcome fella it is a well known fact I have a massive amount of sympathy for citizens who fall into the debt trap though ill health.

just fill in the form above and had it in with the request you are seeking, remember to also enclose prove of earning like bank statement DWP benefit entitlement forms etc then the court office will take care of it for him.

The court office will assess his entitlement to remission of fees first and if everything ok pass the redetermination form onto a sitting judge on that day.
