Theres plenty of space between the olives and the front walls. The owls can get a bit noisy down there in the big oak trees but there is room for a decent size tent.

If you can water the gardens for me before the sun gets up, it'd be a bonus.

just a thought but, it could also be because his big 60th birthday is in December

    Hi Pepe.
I love your posts - they are my first-choice to read on here.
I wonder just how many of us are talking about running away to the sun and never get to do it, we certainly talk about it often. You are quite an inspiration to some of us.

Have you the time or inclination to set-up a blog? I know we would be interested in reading/contributing (obviously, the move and the lifestyle, not your reasons for being on here).

Just a thought. Good luck and keep the updates coming.

    Alan

Oh dear ! There were many people on the site we stayed at who had decided to make it their home. Chatting to an English couple, only in their 50's, with a caravan who said ' We came here last September and just decided not to go home!'. Good decision, I thought.

On the Debt front. Piddling little £200 with Evans ( Santander ) of K's looks like it's about to be killed by us ( see my last post ) as they have sent us SOMEBODY ELSES details with their recent letter We know all about 'Mr B' and his PPI Claim Non Refund.... and Santanders excuses are pretty good, if rubbish!
The last people to do this were Barclaycard with me and it cost them a £4500 debt with a good CCA!! It was sent to their Data Protection Team who, as I suspected may happen, promptly lost it when I re-requested it several months later. Happy days.

Must get up and water the veg before it hits the expected 30c+

We've just got back from a little break in the Alentejo, just S of Lisbon. Great area, loads of history but bloody hot! Good job though, as the place we were staying was 'clothing optional' and not many took the option ( that reminds me, the ironing needs doing) Even at 70mph the wind was hot when sticking my arm out.

Anyhoo, with K's stuff, Westrot have sent an eMail basically saying that they are squeaky clean and it was all Lloyds fault and anyway they weren't even there or nuffin' so please can we go away and stop kicking them.....Done ( and they have been ! )

Nothing from McWankie Hall.....no surprise there then and Santander Cards (Evans) are getting so confused as to which piece of correspondence is in answer to what, they haven't got a clue...maybe use the 'phantom letter' plan next . All in all, everything under control.

....and, yes, bloody hot here. Nightwatch, get a move on !!

Went to visit friends over near Coimbra ( a bit nearer the coast ) and there is a whole expat community who have stuck two fingers firmly up the arse of the UK Finance Industry. Such fun !!!

Sunset over the Serra, Kirsty McColl ringing out across our valley and mais mais vinho tinto.

Btw, a beautiful 1 bed fully furnished house is for sale in Penha Garcia at the moment ( about 5 miles closer to the Spanish Border) Great bass fishing literally on the doorstep and mucho cheapo petrol just over the border.......19,000 Euros. Yes Euros. Fuck the Banks and the cold UK, come on in, the water's fine.

Well, the quietness continues. PDLs are so easy to sink without trace. I don't know why more people don't do it! Also it is so good to be thoroughly insulting and unpleasant to these pillocks when you know they cannot do anything, no change there then!

Our correspondence with Kerens debts goes to Plan and we are tying them firmly in knots! Lloyds/Wescot are digging themselves firmly into such a deep hole that there won't be a rope long enough to reach them....... writing to an address that the Customer has not been resident at for at least 2 years!...tut,tut,tut, you are really going to catch it unless you drop it immediately ( that was the gist of the letter we sent ).... and asking us to go to our nearest Branch to confirm our identity (!) whilst writing to our current address in Portugal.....words fail me, well they don't really, they flow from me in a well aimed stream whilst pissing on someones bonfire

RBS, Evans ( Santander ) and Lloyds still struggle to find agreements, although Santander helpfully sent one dated some 3 years after the Account was started which can be proven by the address given on the copy of the Direct Debit also enclosed with the 'true copy', whoops.
Wescot have, apparently, dropped it! When they sent a letter stating that they had 'received correspondence from Lloyds but that they had mislaid it and could we contact them to provide the missing info..' , we prompyly told them to f**k off ( in other words ( see above ) and they did. Good riddance. Next !

hay ho on a go slow

Yeah, I'm gonna invite 'em all over for the same week and put 'em up in tents .....giving each of them a shovel to dig about 21 cubic metres of rock-filled soil out for the pool......and then give the laziest one a bigger shovel and tell him to dig another hole to put all the rubble in
