          General Update:
          • Yesterday my contract exchanged on my house
          • Once Letting agent have "proof" that exchange has gone through, the rental house is mine, mine mine!!
          • Letting agent informed me that I passed all their referencing ... They can't have done a credit check! So when she told me I'd passed, I just kinda said "Oh right, ok!" in a very non-plussed manner.
          • I spent the weekend packing up the remains of my ex's stuff, and she has spent the past two days collecting it. But finally all gone now!
          • So now, just a weekend of more packing and taking furniture apart!
          • Once I've got the go-ahead that the place is mine, I need to start arranging things like postal redirection ... and moving utilities ... need some Niddy advice on that one!

Yea, so long as you avoid telewest/virgin, BT & British Gas you'll be ok. Do not register on electoral register and do not transfer any old accounts to the new address, use mail divert..... pay for 1yr service so keep the money aside from house sale cos its a few quid!

                Ok:

Council Tax, it's the same country ... they will just move my record.
Electoral register, I always opt to be hidden. Is it legal/possible to not register?
BT - Current phone service ... work "might" be installing a line for me. Fingers crossed.
Sky ??? They ok for phone line and broadband otherwise?
                Driving license
                Car V5

By NO Accounts ... do you mean none of my debts?
Can I move Current Bank account - I should move that right?
Mobile phone (T-Mobile) ... just "forget" to change it.
Mortgage info for second house. They will need contact details.

I know we haven't discussed the "disappear" vs "UE" or "IVA" options yet, as no info back from CCA's ... but I'm not 100% comfortable with just doing a runner, I'd prefer to avoid needless contact from the creditors.

Its illegal not to complete the census which is the same for voting (E/R) however who's to say that you'll get the forums through? My mate has never been registered yet and he is pushing 40

Cannot have a BT landline - they WILL credit search you and this will create a link = everything will follow you.

Are you actually changing address with them for this? All you usually do is use the actual property address of the mortgage - the tenant should keep letters for you.... if you don't do this, then start to! Its a c/o (property address)

                    Cool thanks for those replies.

                    Other house
The mortgage company got arsey when they realised I was letting it without permission and asked for full contact details. Therefore they have my current residence. I guess a mail forwarder should suffice ... until they realise.

                    BT
Will they still credit search me if my employer installs and pays for the line? Surely it's a business line at a different location?! This would be a huge monthly saving if work provided this for me.

                    Bank Account
Co Op Cashminder x 2 and a Smart Saver ... all the rest of my accounts I'm happy to forget. I just remember the application process for a cashminder where they still did a credit check, but the "soft" one where they just check address etc. I don't see how I can get a bank account without divulging 3 years of address.

                    Mobile Phone
On contract with T-Mobile, until later this year, but think I'll probably not renew as the PAYG options are far better value at present. Such as GiffGaff or Three.

                    Work
Big one here ... I'm government cleared ... I'm finding out anonymously through work if it will impact my job if I go Bankrupt/IVA. Therefore giving up my old credit, and starting afresh ... does concern me a little, especially as my clearance requires them to check my background!

So ... what is the ultimate long term plan?
Don't register on electoral register, don't move anything that might involve a credit search, open a new bank account (if I manage to). So what else longer term??

I guess I can say to my current utility suppliers that I'm moving and not sure where I'm going to.

When people ask for three years worth of addresses ... what does one say?

Ok, sorted - use this as part of the mail divert til things calm down a bit....

You should be ok, in any case not much you can do - just let this go through, no matter who takes it out, and see what happens - just remember you cannot apply for your credit files just now either or the link will also be generated so be careful what you do...

These types of account should be ok, as above - not much you can do so best just move them to new address, as there is no lending feed, no updates should be made to the CRA's unless you actually apply for something at new address.....

Yep, leave a divert in place for this then cancel or whatever whenever you're ready..... just do not let them know your new address

I am also government cleared, in the essence of I was a senior manager for them - but unless you directly work in a related field then debt will have little impact on your career - PM me the area of Gvt you're based in for specific answer, but I was internal fraud for DWP and although not in debt, it would not have much impact as a credit search was never undertaken. However, that said - if you work for a specialist branch (MI5 etc) then sure, you'll be credit searched and vetted. I guess you're saying you've been vetted? If so, don't worry about this.

Obviously, as with all Civil Service jobs, if you're BR/IVA then it does look bad on you - so best to give your G Grade the heads up (G Grade is usually area Director level or equivalent)....

Just don't go on E/R or apply for credit. Otherwise my answers above apply..... Forget the bank account thing - stick with what you currently have

Just say you're homeless - you want a final bill to clear/close the account. Pay it and close the account, simples.

                          Oh ... rhetorical question here:

"When I move, if I do not update my new address with my creditors, will:
                          a) the new property owners become financially linked to me as at same address?
                          b) Will their credit also become impacted?"

There is the "Do you care" question, and yes I do have a conscience and the house buyers are lovely, I'd rather not leave them a pile of my shite to sweep up.

Both no - credit is NOT linked to addresses, but to people. Ergo (example) you could live at home and be a high risk, this would have NO impact on your parents.....

Hmmm unfortunately you need to forget them and think of number 1 - sorry, harsh as it sounds, its the way it has to be. Set up a mail divert, they will then not see too much - yes, if anyone happens to call then they'd know, however they would simply say its not them and the doorstep collector would need to leave.

Make sure, you DO NOT give the incoming owners a forwarding address....
