Re: FiscalFool's UE Diary - and General Journal!

I already do ... just found a answering machine message for my ex from a debt collection agency. They really do employ the nastiest of people don't they! :P

Re: FiscalFool's UE Diary - and General Journal!

Well good news of the day is:

I've found a place to live.
I've paid the sum necessary to process my application £150+vat ... robbin' b*stards!
I've sent off my application form.

Fingers crossed by everyone that I pass the credit check successfully without needing a guarantor. I really don't want to have to go begging to my parents!

Since my house sale completes on a Monday, it would mean I wouldn't be able to get my friends to help me move house. I'd have to pay a house moving company. BUT ... my g/f has offered to pay the deposit for the house on her credit card (which is currently unused), so that I can move over the weekend! On the condition that I pay her back immediately that the house goes through.

Well done matey - party at yours then, this weekend?

Say what - £180 fee for what, exactly?

Jesus, that's a rip off - it so is

You are all welcome to come and party, so long as you bring your own beer!! I'm saving for a rental deposit remember

£150 + VAT ... to process my application, draw up the contract and meet me to sign it. Non-refundable of course. I'm sure part of that pays the credit reference agency too.

Rip off, but I can see why they do it.

Then after that before I can move in I have to pay in full:
              One months rent in advance
Deposit (Equal to One months rent + £100)
              Pet Safety Deposit = £200

BAM and there was almost £2k ... gone!

Ouch indeed, how much money? You could buy with less than that as deposit lol

You reckon I'd get a mortgage with my impaired credit rating and no real deposit?????

The last place was 95% LTV!

Glad you found somewhere that was Doglee friendly!!

Ugh such a lot of money - going to have the same myself - but might have to end up paying 6 months rent in advance.................

                      Good luck!

I'm really hoping I don't have to do that, as I simply don't have that amount to hand.

Plus I don't want to have to ask parents ... at all!

Good news that you've found somewhere dog-friendly to rent - hope it all goes well regarding credit check.

Not such good news on how much you're having to pay out up front

Cheeky buggers - letting agents have just called asking more info about my house sale and asking if I can put any kind of a deposit now, as it's ages until I move in. 3 weeks. Bearing in mind it still needs cleaning too!

I sent her off to pacify the landlord and to get her to confirm that it is mine, and wont be allocated from under my feet!
