    Hi everyone,

    My name is Joao and I am new in the forum, so Hi to everyone. Hope you guys can help me with this not so new issue.
    I looked on google and it seems a lot of people had problems with Orange and Lowell before, but I can't get the right answer for my problem.
    I was with Orange/EE for about a year on a pay monthly SIM only contract. The contract was only 1 month, but I set up a direct debit. After 1 year I realised EE wasn't for me and when my last bill came I cancel my direct debit.
    Now, last week and after 2 years, I got a letter from Lowell saying my account was sold from Orange and I have to pay £60 otherwise further action will be taken. I have been trying to phone Orange/EE but I can't get to talk to anyone because my number doesn't exist on their records anymore.

    Not sure what to do now, since I can't check if this is some kind of scam or I am really owing something.

    Hi jmmc and welcome to AAD. As you say you're not the only one with this problem. Was your contract a rolling monthly contract?

      Can't see anything like that written on the contract. Only says "Contract length - 1 MONTH"

        That's a rolling 1 month contract. I'm having a similar problem with 3 regarding a rolling contract of my Dad's.

        The thing with these rolling contracts is that you need to write to them and inform them that you're cancelling the contract and not just cancel the direct debit. Of course you did that didn't you? Then I would write to Lowell's and tell them that you wrote to Orange/EE to cancel the contract and as far as you're concerned you don't owe anything.

        Don't be worried by them saying that further action will be taken. It is intended to scare you but may just mean that they will continue to write to you or send someone to your door (BTW these are NOT bailiffs)

          Yes! that's what I did, damn it. I will write to them then and let's see what happens. I will update this thread when I have more news.

            If you have written and cancelled it, giving 30 days notice and paying that last 30 day fee then they must cancel the contract - no excuses.

              Hi everyone!
              It's been a while, but since I wrote to Lowell stating that I closed my contract with Orange, they wrote back with a statement of my Orange account in where I have 4 months not payed.
              Another strange thing is, my name has one letter missing, and the Orange invoice says 56.21£ but the Lowell invoice says I have to pay 64.76£.
              Can I do something about this, or should I just pay? At the time I sent the letter and never got a reply back that's why I cancelled the direct debit. Maybe it was my fault.
