Selling A Property - How to deal with Estate Agents?

Not quite debt-related, but I was wondering if anybody has some tips / advice. I'm about to sell a property for the first time (I'm not moving, it's a rental property that I own).

I have a few Estate Agents coming around next week to do valuations and to help me decide who to use, I want to make sure I'm asking them the right questions / am aware of their tricks etc. A couple of them have already tried the hard-sell during the initial phone call! Also, any thoughts on what a reasonable commission rate is, in the current climate?

Any help is greatly appreciated folks.

Is it worth trying to sell it yourself?
After two duff experiences selling houses with agents who had seemed credible, but where I'd have done a better job myself, I decided that next time I'd do it myself and save myself the commission.
