OFT summarises responses on debt collection
OFT has published a summary of the main issues raised in responses to its consultation on a revised version of the guidance on debt collection. Among the general comments were a request for a consolidated block of OFT guidance, which OFT thinks is attractive in theory but would be impractical to maintain. Respondents also requested more definitions be included within guidance. This summary also contains OFT’s thinking on several issues, and therefore should be viewed as a companion to the guidance.
