  • Best pension scheme

So far all the family have had secure pension schemes (local government, education, etc). My 21 year old son doesn't have a pension scheme provided by work, but he needs to start something. What is the best way forward?
    Thanks

    put it under the bed

any pension scheme in the private sector has turned out as a total waste of time because at the end they start to change the rules, which you have no control over. Do it yourself, be strict and don't rely on money grabbing pension schemes

yep, under the mattress is the way forward
When Gold isn't enough, there is SA Gold! New to the forum and find the UE route a bit scary? Take a look at my diary here and judge for yourself. I am now saving the money each month that was making little difference to the balance and not a bit of difference to my credit file as a result of finding AAD.

My pension pot wouldn't have grown by £15k over the last 6 years if I'd put it under the mattress!

I think with any investment, it is best to take independent advice and decide which is best for you.

            Re: Best pension scheme

Sooner or later your son's employer will HAVE to set up a pension scheme under the Govt Auto Enrolment rules so maybe best to wait until then? The employer has to pay into the scheme as well - not a lot but something is a lot better than nothing!

            Cheers
