    So far all the family have had secure pension schemes (local government, education, etc). My 21 year old son doesn't have a pension scheme provided by work, but he needs to start something. What is the best way forward?

    So, in 1988 I paid a single premium for my pension when I left my employer..this was made up of two parts...my contributions and my employers contributions..it wasn't much back then, just over £6,300...
