    Couldn't these people do something useful like wipe out everyones debt? I mean come on......

        Considering most of the so called debt has been more than repaid.

          unfortunatly, it was a DoS attack, which is pretty easy to do, and wouldnt affect any debts, as those details would be kept secure off of the internet, your talking gaining access to secure severs somewhere and wiping data, which isnt as easy.

          Plus, i would imagine they have backup servers located somewhere else too.

          Would take someone with real inside knoweldge to do that.
