People here might wish to have a look at this news story. The newspaper concerned is a local one in the Midlands. This law firm grew out of several small well run local practices until overwhelming corporate GREED took over. I know some of the partners/ex partners as I went to grammar school with them hence I would never do business with them. If you search on this story there is much much more in "The Lawyer" and such like publications.

The real worry for me concerns folk like us who may have had cases and files lodged with them in their "disputes resolution" department. Much of the client base has in fact been sold to Shoosmiths who as we know are less than helpful in helping those consumers in difficult times. I would hope that the SRA (Huh!) move in quickly to prevent any conflict of interest shall we say on Shoosmiths part.
As one commentator put it in "The Lawyer" it goes to show the state of the so called legal profession in the UK at the moment. The local cowboy builder has more ethics and principles than this lot.
