      Hi folks,

I don't post very often these days, not because I have forgotten this forum but because I am busy with life itself. We have now gone over our 4 year mark and things have gone very quiet. Without following Niddy's advice and going down the UE route, I would have gone under!!! It was not an easy decision, but the correct decision. On a personal level, I have had family problems, bereavements and serious illnesses etc which have been hard enough to deal with, without the added pressure of money worries, so my heartfelt thanks go to Niddy and team. I am about to go on holiday and this wouldn't have happened a few years ago. So if any of you are considering doing UE, or have just begun your journey, good luck to you because you have just made a correct decision.

              • Re: Elsie52's UE Diary

Good morning everyone. Well 5 years ago today was the day we started to change our lives for the better. We sent out our first CCA Request letters and our Unenforceability journey began.! It has been a rollercoaster of emotions. Worrying everytime the doorbell or phone rang or the postman left letters. Scared that were we doing the right thing. Let me assure anyone setting off on their journey.......YES it was the best thing we did and the only option to sort our lives out. We had the constant letters and calls etc for the first couple of years, then it became less over the next 2 years. This past 5th year has been very quiet and hopefully it will continue to be so for this final 6th year. We have kept very quiet, not drawn atttention to ourselves by swapping utilities suppliers etc. We have gotten totally used to living on a cash only basis. No credit or loans etc, and believe me you can do it, and it feels good to be paying with real money. There is a real feel of satisfaction in saving up for something, even if it takes longer to end up with something, you know that you have earned it by budgeting. That is the key BUDGET.....and stick to it. We are now looking forward to reaching the end of our UE journey, but without Niddy and his help and guidance we would never have done it.So a massive THANKYOU Niddy and team from the bottom of my heart, we are now living life and enjoying it for the first time in years. xx

Hi Elsie, lovely to hear from you

There are quite a few of us coming up to 5 years (where has the time gone? )

That's a lovely post and very true. I'm going to copy it and add it to the UE-One Year On thread as we often refer newbies to it and it does them good to see how life can change for the better...and that you really can live without credit.

great post Elsie, you forgot to mention all the people you've helped along the way too so you fully deserve for this final year to be nice and quiet.

great idea to copy in to the One Year On thread, it makes for inspirational reading for those starting out.

take care of you and yours and do pop in for drink in the bar occasionally, we miss you. xxxx

Thanks everyone. I can't believe how quickly this 5 years seems to have gone, and yet at other times all we did was wish our lives away and want to be further down the line with everything. I am glad that everyone is also doing okay. I remember how we all paid money off our debts every month for years, and still were not getting very far. Our creditors were hassling for more money etc. and were never ever satisfied with what we could afford to give them. I think we all sat on the sidelines for a while wondering what this UE business was all about, and then one by one we took the plunge and now we never look back. We should have done it sooner, but would we have been ready then. We all tried paying back, but that was getting us nowhere due to greedy creditors and loan companies etc. I hope that any of the members who are reading this and considering UE decide to do it. Its not easy, and you have to be strong to deal with things, but its truly worth it. Take care everyone. xx

PS. Can anyone tell me how to make a donation these days. I usually send one a month but for some reason the link isn't working its just showing my subscription. Is there a new way of doing things, it worked last month.

I was one who sat on the sidelines for a while...it was July 2010 before I took the plunge...MattyA is my UE twin as we both sent our CCA requests off on the same day, alland will be 5 years in in May and there are a few others around the same time. I think we should have a big party when they all become SB next year!

And as MrsD says, pop in to the Bar for a catch up...we do miss you
