Just thought it might be worth bringing to the attention of any users out there that this route works for when you have a failed SAR.
I have followed another sites advice and got no where very fast. Failed SAR letters and the prospect of court.
Decided to go to the top instead and write to the CEO and now have had success with Barclays, Santander, Creation, RBS, MBNA and Halifax.
Each company provided a SAR within 7 days of the CEO letter being sent. Funny that aint it. Perhaps an investment in more staff could go along way to sorting these problems out.
Credit where credit is due Egg were the only company who actually complied with the law. Shame on the rest of these companies.
Its not just a letter or general question we are asking its a lawful request and therefore the law they are breaking. Its shocking really.
Anyway my advice is if you want a SAR and dont get one within 40days then write direct to the CEO. It got me results. In the case of Barclays I got the information back to inception of the account and a £50 compensation award.
On the dark side they would have had me going to court to get less information than I actually got.
