  • Citi charges

    Good evening all,

Have tried two requests to Citi Financial/ associates to reclaim charges added to the account (now sold to Crappot) and have been rejected flat on both occasions, any advice on how to proceed next would be appreciated. Amount claimed is in excess of £2k calculated from copy statements following SAR request but payout refused flat stating Citi do not accept charges are unlawful or unfair. Account goes back to 200.

    Re: Citi charges

If they are over £12 then they can be considered unfair.

You may have to go through FOS

      Hi there

Did they say if it was the final decision? If so they should also confirm that your able to take your complaint to the FOS - 6 months as from the date on the final decision letter, also enclosed with a leaflet on how to complain to the FOS.

As Vint says, if final then move on to the FOS, or otherwise write back to the business with further info, even if the account is sold on, the responsibility is still the business you complained to. You could try otherwise before moving on to the FOS by writing to the Chief Executive Offficer (CEO) of the business and ask him or her to review your matter before you decide to take it further.

If you do take your complaint to the FOS, and in hardship, make them aware of this, and request for fast tracking, as they may consider that action if your in any serious arrears, for eg for the mortgage/rent, utility bills etc, of any illness conditions such as stress etc as well, mention it all, and it may help move your complaint on quicker to an adjudicator of the FOS.

Hope this helps, good luck :-)
