  • Littlewoods Shopping Insurance

Hello ive been reading through a few threads on here regarding littlewoods shopping insurance, and i am wondering if the shopping insurance would pay out if I needed to make a claim.
I cant quite remember the date i opened an account at littlewoods, but it was in 2010, and I had just started a ltd company, working 16 hours per week as company director, and claiming carers allowance as I am a carer.
Ive found an article on the guardian that says working for a family company is a no no.
Would this mean I have a claim to refund my insurance policy?

Thanks in advance for any help

When you signed up - did you have policy questions (ie a document to sign & return) / exclusions or was it sold over the phone / pressured upon placing an order or similar

        Hi thanks for the reply

It was setup over the phone, I dont remember signing any documents and sending them off, tbh I didnt know anything about the insurance until alot later when i checked a statement and i thought well it must be compulsory to have it, and left it as that.
Should i request a SAR? Will that tell me everything i need to know?

Yea a SAR is good. You'd be better going down the ombudsman route if they reject your misselling argument for refund of premiums etc.

You were likely exempt at inception. It's their error so as you've just become aware you're in time to reclaim

** there's nothing wrong with submitting a claim against the policy first. If they refuse your claim you can then argue it was missold - especially if your situation is similar now to inception of policy.
