  • How to get the Best Deal on Train Tickets

Can anyone point me in the right direction to the best site to buy cheap train tickets......

For September I will be looking to get a good deal for a return from Liverpool to London and then Manchester to London.

We will have a fixed date and time so they don't need to be fleixble just as cheap as poss.

I know from looking at The Trainline and Vigin you can only book 14 weeks in advance.

Anyone have any advice on getting the best deals??

    Much Appreciated

Most only go 3 month in advance other than BR who offer that Apex thing.....

I use ---> Buy Cheap Train Tickets Online - Save up to 80% - redspottedhanky.com

Same thing as trainline but easier to navigate.

Have a look on the cashback sites for Virgin and trainline (and others) aswell, see if you can get a few % cashback
Check to see if 2 single trips, rather than a return works out cheaper

Personally I use National express coaches (I don't like trains or train stations)
It's taken years of hard work to earn the capital N in Numpty

Virgin not all cracked up to be........

I checked online to see how much from A-B (i know its only £6.10 day return)........But Virgin website, was going to charge me £20.50 as 2 single tickets, never had day return tickets on their website (Trainline does, Chester Le Street trains site does)

          lol

Check out 1st class tickets as well, i've been to Swansea a couple of times using 1st class as they were cheaper than standard for some reason.

Agree with Numpty re single tickets, nearly always works out cheaper that way.
