Last week my sisters car was damaged by a sign that blew off the side of the building where she works, the estimate for repairs is £900.
Her employers do not own the building they only rent it. (Do they have a duty of care towards employees?)
Should she be claiming from her employers or the owner of the building for the cost of the repair?
Her insurance company are not keen on chasing anyone for the claim but have said just pay the insurance excess and they will repair the car. She has said that because it was not her fault she should not have to shoulder the cost of excess to get the damage repaired.
Any sensible advice please?
