I agree Strepsi A very big thanks to AAD especially the MODS from ALL of US who have trod this Statue Barred road!
Speaking for myself I couldn't have done this without AAD and Joanna Connolly

Debt of such a massive amount that very nearly finished me off. I honestly think that this site really saved my life.

So having a limited choice of CC is a price very much worth paying. Oh for clarification sake, I will never make that same mistake again, but having a CC for emergency is only thing we consider now!

Hi, We owed £120k+,when we started on the UE journey Hubby has a CC for emergency use, we have a loan and Car finance,

As Still waving says look around you can find CC deals with good rates out there, then further down the line apply for the intrest free transfer offers to clear it. Just read the small print

Probably best to steer clear of the banks you previously owed money to. There seem to be a good number of alternatives these days. I remember Niddy making a post years ago about his own experience of applying for new credit cards. I probably wouldn't be able to find it now.

Contesting Credit Reports can be evidence of recognising Debts!
CCA requests USE AAD template (soliciter approved)

If you want fuller information look at Financial Conduct Authority (the 1 month? always known this can't off hand find the reference BUT look when did a payment register on the DBA's Accounts? A delay between making a payment and accounting for the payment! Accounting was manual for years!! )

Well, I can't believe it, I have passed the statute barred date for all of my debts apart from just the one, my last payment to all creditors was 16/12/2013

I have found the above post whilst searching other people's Statute Barred threads.

That to me looks like it is just 6 years. I have read a few times 6 years + one month, why the one month?

I remember seeing mine drop away and dates and deadlines pass away! Great feeling. But I took the decision to lie low just in case I had unintentionally restarted the SB clock! I had a couple of spats over Credit Entries! These I understood could have be interpreted as acknowledging the DEBT!
    Why plus one month?

Creditors will likely chase you anyway, but they are toothless if you are definitely SB.

So definitely double-check SB dates (they are likely to be different for each account you had) AND as previously mentioned, check your CRF for any adverse entries which could compromise your attempt to get credit.
So I have just checked bank statement, all my final payments were made in January 2016. The dates range from the 4th January up to the 28th.

All bar one have gone from my credit file, the one that remains has been won by Jo.
