just chase them out the drive, another crowd of unfortunates who get paid peanuts and have to rely on you making a "contribution" to their commission, so you can see towards the end of the month, they may get a trifle desperate................

Thanks Techie and Mrs D - I guessed they would be pretty "run of the mill" but I'm always willing to learn !!

Ive just had a thought...... Barclaycard dont believe that British law applies to them either .......

The RMA Letter threatens me with a doorstep collector from Scotcall ........ In this case and because they dont have to respect British Law ( Because they ARE Barclaycard) does this mean that the collector has the absolute right to seize my firstborn child from my very arms in partial payment?

the the techie's right Spud, a crowd of pussies

In the days before I found Niddy, I had a telephone arguement with this lot who were chasing an american express devt, the woman told me that as it was a AE debt, normal British law didn't apply and they could do what they liked.....promptly phoned the FOS, reported them and got compo, so just a crowd of unfortunates trying to do a job they haven't a clue about

MBNA = use RMA initially usually to chase payments, they tend to not stay very long before being sold off ect.

They sent a recon agreement that was wrong on a couple of points !!

Then they sent me a copy of my original application.... A 30 second sign here form!

I'm going to wait a while before I send the MPT letter and I'm certainly not going to phone Mercers!

Hopefully I will hear from an external DCA shortly and the merry-go-round will start.

I was hoping that the fact they have offered such a big discount as their first ever offer was a good sign and things were looking up on this one

    I could probably afford a 98% discount F&F......
    UPDATE

Barclaycard accounts are now passed to RMA ( Risk Management Alternatives)

I've heard of them before from other diaries but I dont remember reading much about them. They dont seem as common as the other names. Are they everso scary???

Anybody got any experience of them?

Both accounts are clearly U/E but they have got to try their best I guess?

I will be following the set letter routine anyway but any advice is always greatly appreciated - Especially As I dont know much about them yet - Got some reading to do !!!!

This has been sold whilst in dispute (Whilst they were still dealing with my formal complaint !!) to Aptiv Kapital - Must update diary!!!

Not paid anything on this account since Christmas when I stopped all payments

    Fancy a chuckle.......

They have just sent me a letter thanking me because they can see that I have been maintaining regular payments to the account as agreed ( Although I have never even spoken/Written to AK !!!!)

Needless to say that I will not be writing to correct them just yet !

I've seen them off a couple of times.

Like SH says, they like to use a lot of red ink and capital letters thinking it will scare you into paying.

Not personally, but there are many others who have. There are plenty of examples on the diary threads.

That is because they keep coming round time and time again. They have "scary" templates with plenty of red ink, in-house pseudo-licitors who use the same address and telephone number (which is a slight giveaway that it is not an independent organisation), and some apparently illiterate employees.

Any time the communication goes beyond the use of templates, they are entirely incapable of coping with it. I've even seen letters referring to the "Credit Consumer Act", and everything is riddled with spelling and grammar errors. That is why they are such a laughing stock.

Yes they are well documented on sites, they tend to run after a while if challenged etc!

So now they accuse me of breaking this agreement that did'nt exist!

There has been no acceptance or agreement - Funny how they want to rely on some sort of payment agreement now that I have stopped paying....Very Convenient!

Think I might write them a quick letter asking for a copy of this payment agreement.....That does'nt exist

    Should be interesting..

Any thoughts on this from others or would I be best to ignore for now?
    UPDATE

I sent Natwest a "Robust" letter of complaint regarding their false claims....

They have written back making full apology, There was no payment agreement in place and the letter should not have been sent. They very much regret the dissapointment and concern that this has caused and they apologise for the distress and worry.

Interestingly they acknowledge that the letter they sent me "would cause alarm"......Then why send it???

A small victory I suppose.... Something to file away to demonstrate their incompetence should I ever need to
