Tell him it is not the house number, it is the running total of debt collector skeletons which are imprisoned in the basement.

I hope you live in a house with a high number.

    Well That did'nt last long!!!!

Mercers sent me a letter ( No date on it interestingly) That offered me a 60% discount F & F offer that I received last week

Then I've just received a letter dated the same day I received the last Stating that as I have failed to bring the account up to date........Usual speel.....

Also an Agent may call at my home address to discuss repayment of your debt.

It seems that even if I had contacted them, They had already printed and sent off the next letter

Not Suprised at all...... Just a bit underhand - Especially not dating the offer letter

Still what are we to expect from Mercers

Time for a quick reminder letter I think regarding Home visits -

I only say that because of all the home visit threats I have received - Barclaycard are the only ones who have actually sent some pillock around

Quite interesting that was.... I answered the door ( I could tell it was a "Collector" straight away)

    Collector - Hello... Bobby Haveadebt?

Me - Sorry, Can I ask who's asking?

    Collector - Barclaycard

Me - Sorry I think you've got the wrong address

Collector - But this is No *** So and so Street

Me - I point to number on the door and say - It says No *** There

Collector - Walks off and says " Its like that is it"

Me - I close the door and smile " Yep its exactly like that"

Mabee I'll get the same bloke again - Poor Sod

    SnV

Thankyou - Dont worry....I'm not in a position to make any offers anyway

I did read about this in an old post - Cannot remember if this one was Barclaycard but it sure is sneaky and something to think about if you are concidering a F&F

If I ever was in that position - I would be sure to post here first - Imagine how Pi**ed off you would be when they end up chasing you for the remainder

Yes I would be very cautious at any rate with any creditor offering such a massive discount right out the gate.

Barclaycard have also been known to accept F&F's and then sell the balance to a DCA leaving the debtor screwed if they didn't get anything in writing, or be very precise as to how the F&F was dealt with

I've not yet had the pleasure although Mercers were a wet weekend so if they are still in-house... I'm thinking Calders will be pretty much the same...

Usual in-house template rubbish - Still it makes the time pass by

That would just be the icing on the cake - Something to tuck away for later !!!

Oh well, Looks good then - Just wait to see who I am allocated

I'm not sure who Barclaycard usually run to next after Mercers ( In House)..

Now, I'm not a betting man but we could have some fun here.....

Anybody want to have a guess who this gets allocated to next?

    Thanks SH

They sent a recon agreement that was wrong on a couple of points !!

Then they sent me a copy of my original application.... A 30 second sign here form!

I'm going to wait a while before I send the MPT letter and I'm certainly not going to phone Mercers!

Hopefully I will hear from an external DCA shortly and the merry-go-round will start.

I was hoping that the fact they have offered such a big discount as their first ever offer was a good sign and things were looking up on this one

    I could probably afford a 98% discount F&F......
