      Re: Should I go bankrupt?

Thanks Phil, things seem to have gathered pace over the last few days, I took my ID into the Coop yesterday and found out all this as well today.
Oh yes also got my HB paid by cheque next week so it needn't go into my old bank

Ok so for tomorrow I am calling
      Severn Trent
      Eon
The charity that run some of the energy trusts
Call DWP to have my benefit paid a different way next time
This is more of a list for me than anyone else
I have an advisor who will sign the forms for me if needed

Now who wants to lend me some money before I go BR

Not that I would of course as that would be dishonest.

So from another thread..who needs drugs ..I am feeling good

        Re: Should I go bankrupt?

Just how old do you think i am, much older than you i'll bet!
I can remember the good old giro that arrived and then you found it was for the wrong P.O
Hopefully a giro for one week should be ok, just need to beat the cut off points for payments.

My tastes have moved on since Tesco started doing two bottles of fruit vodka for £23 BUT IF £2.29 is all you can spare then so be it, I ain't fussy.

Hopefully my co op account will be running in a week

          That's the general idea

You're back in the driving seat

This is entirely your decision based on extensive research by your PA

Here's another one you could call which manages grant applications for a number of energy companies up and down the country:

            http://www.charisgrants.com/clients.html

What a lot of people don't know is that there is money available to pay BR fees. But also that these charities, backed by the energy companies, will fund people's utility bills which have been rocketing in recent years thanks to greed by the energy giants

You don't need to be a BR to get your hands on some of this money. Anyone in debt and on benefits can apply. But if you've got any current oustanding energy bills Jon why not get them paid off too since you're getting so organised

Absolutely. I only wanted to make the point that Jon was not under any pressure to switch from the UE route to BR. He had been contemplating the option since he started this thread months ago and his circumstances were different to others. He simply made an informed decision. My personal UE journey is going like clockwork thanks to AAD

                  Re: Should I go bankrupt?

What a day, I've had people fighting over me, giving me hugs . Makes me feel all wanted

                  Now I have a question
As some of yo uknow I am applying for grants for the BR fee from various charities but this could take two, 3 or even 4 weeks. In the meantime one or two of my creditors are beginning to jump up and down. That does not bother me but in that sort of timescale can anything happen, i.e is it worth dropping a letter to each of them telling them I am exploring options and taking advice or am I just wasting postage?

By the way, anyone got a boat, i have a feeling we may need it before the weekend is out

Here's another hug from me Jon

I would just ignore, as it is just a waste of stamps/recorded delivery tbh. Don't mention going BR if they ring as this will just increase the calls/letters ten fold!! If they ring say a debt charity is helping you and you will contact them in due course.

Just hang on in there and it will be over soon.

IMO i'd not say anything to them, either by phone or letter. Not sure whether they'd actually read or take notice anyway. If they write in the meantime just deal with it when/if it arrives, no point worrying bout what may happen.

Thanks. That has reassured me, and if anything nasty drops on my doormat I will be back kicking and screaming and driving you all mad. Not that I am planning on going anywhere .

Now all I need is for my PA to find someone to clean my flat and do my washing and ironing I will be in clover

                        Oh I just noticed...do I get a pressie when I turn 100?
