Are Banks allowed to take benefits in charges?
I have just got off the phone to my local Benefits Office and they confirm they are not allowed to touch Housing benefit but are unsure about the rest. I remember seeing some documentation somewhere on here but can't remember where.

Santander ignoring me
It all stared on 27 Feb 2012, I sent Santander a letter of appropriation and gave them 2 weeks for a reply.
This quickly passed by so I sent them another letter on 12 March 2012, they have had a further 16 days and I have heard nothing from them, not even a letter acknowledging receipt...

Claiming Charges (HSBC)
Is it worth claiming charges back from HSBC on a closed account. I think it was opened in 2005 (cant find all statements, earliest #7 dated 1 May 2006)
I did try ages ago but it was during the big test case.
