      Ok, usually disabling java is a hint, can you goto FF and select Tools -> Options -> Content Tab and untick the Enable Javascript box - then restart FF and see if that helps....

      It's fault finding LOL

                  Is this just Firefox, or other browsers as well?

                    Ok lets try something else first, you're using MS essentials aren't you?

                    If so, do this:
                    -> Reboot
                    -> at start-up hit F8 and select Run in safe mode with networking
                    -> Open MSE and run a scan
                    -> Remove everything it lists
                    -> Reboot
                    See if that does anything......

                      I did have MSE on until last night, my son uninstalled it and put on comodo AV premium as he said it was better lol I did not want an argument at gone midnight so I let him try and help to no avail.

                      shall I put mse back on as to be honest I liked it as it was easy

                        ok ill do as above disconnect internet uninstall comodo then install MSE and do as above.

                          Yes, do a system restore to the previous state, reboot and see if that reverses anything!!!

                            No mate - go back in restore till the last action PRIOR to your son's involvement with the AV suite.....

                              Tried system restore this morning but none of the 6 restore points I have work probably because it has shut down the security centre
