Yea, probably will. My mum opened that letter, it got sent to her address where the original account was.

She thought she was gonna have debt collectors turn up.

Ok so as it was your mum, then say "an offer of £75 will surely satisfy my mother whom was totally distraught at the prospect of a debt collector calling at her home, of course the alternative would be a formal complaint to the OFT regards your clear breach of abuse, followed up by a chat with my friends in the press office..."

      That may strike a nerve

        Re: Digital tv

merely saying that they will not be calling is not good enough as they should never of made that threat in the first place specially as it appears they where not totally sure the moneys were owing.

              Re: Digital tv

This is my email to sky(not sent yet)

              Dear twat

I was shocked to receive a letter from sky re a closed account and threatening to refer this to a dca if payment was not received, even more shockingly my elderly mother opened this letter and phoned in a state of distress believing she would be visited by the dca.

After sending an email to your complaints department i received a rather inadequate reply and now feel that not only am i owed an apology but i feel compensation of £75 should be paid for the stress and inconvenience this has caused. If i feel this complaint is not settled to my satisfaction i shall be reporting you to the OFT for your clear breach of abuse

              Yours swanny

              Any thoughts?

                  Whereas I would not.

Likening them to a wench's nether parts seems to imply they have at least one useful function, whilst they seem determined to prove that they have not.

I believe that the traditional "Dear sir or madman" would be better, not least of which because the insult might have been a typo.

After checking your account, I see that we did receive an email from you dated 10th June and was actioned on the 15th June by one of our advisors. I understand that the responded to your request with an email asking for further information and a time and number to call you on. No further contact was received.
I'm sorry your mother opened this mail as it was clearly marked for yourself only.

I believe you should reply, telling them their response is not satisfactory, as their assurances in the past have proved about as useful as that given to Neville Chamberlain at Munich.

                              Hi swanny,

Neville Chamberlain was probably one of the first really stupid politicians we have been lumbered with in modern times.

He famously said " I have a piece of paper, peace in our time" after meeting Hitler in Munich. As the next dubious Prime Minister said (Winston Spencer Churchill) "an appeaser is one who feeds the crocodile, in the vain hope that he will be eaten last"

By the way an interesting book is out I believe "The Titanic Conspiracy" which gives a better insight into the activities of Winston Spencer Churchill and the sceptic tanks across the Atlantic.

                              regards
                              Garlok

                                Dear sir

So you believe i failed to contact you in response to your email of 15th June 2011? I must've imagined responding with what was requested of me under the data protection act and the reply i received detailing what was required. I also imagined the reply i sent giving this information and receiving confirmation that the account was then closed.

You claim that you have cleared the balance and nothing is owed. Strange as that is 3 times now i've had emails from your company telling me this has been cleared and closed.
So in response of your final sentence, no i do not find this acceptable and refer you once again to my comments re the OFT in my previous email.

                                Regards

                                Swanny

                                Dear Mr swanny
                                Thank you for your response.
I'm sorry that you do not find my previous reply satisfactory.
However I can find no record of any of the emails and replies that your email indicates you sent and received other than the one I mentioned in my earlier email. I can also advise that no-one has previous placed any credit to clear the outstanding balance until my action.
I can assure you this balance has been cleared and no further action will be taken by us.
You are as you have advised us, within your rights to contact a third party should you wish to do so.
I’m sorry my response could not be more positive, but hope I have clarified our position regarding this matter.
                                Kind regards
