It needs to keep on growing. I think the petition sites usually just create another milestone target once the current one has been reached. The problem is that on the Government's E-petition site it says that if you collect 100,000 signatures your petition could be debated in the House of Commons.

Hi, yes you're right re milestone. It's a way of encouraging more people to sign. I had toyed with the idea of presenting the petition once it reaches 15,000 but obviously the more signatures it has the better. I also want to pick my moment as it where in order for the petition to have a greater impact. I am emailing all signatories via 38 Degrees next week to give an update and also to ask people to share the link again so hopefully that in itself will generate more signatures.
