Re: Malaysia Airlines: Missing Flight MH370

I have just watched the special prog on tv, seems to me even the experts are baffled, possible major failure, possible hijack, possible cyber takeover - seems it is possible, but what did strike me was that it was the Americans who told them to look in the Indian Ocean and gave possible coordinates, whatever the outcome it surely is a mystery - unless the yanks shot it down of course ....

"What we know".? .....Basically that will be nothing then.....
Here is the transcript between ATC and the flight deck. Nothing here either to suggest what happened that night...

The only sure thing. is...what's left of Flight MH370 is sitting at the bottom of the Indian Ocean ....

Re: Malaysia Airlines: Missing Flight MH370

Why does it have to be. At the bottom of the ocean ? It could have been hijacked and be sitting somewhere very remote, ie in the Northern Territory of Australia or even Norrh Korea or China ?

                  just asking.

                    1. If it was sitting somewhere remote in all probability it should have shown up on some radar somewhere as it made landfall, all the major powers have radar to detect possible hostile aircraft entering their airspace, and spy satellites watching each other, especially in hostile areas like North Korea. And even if it had flown on undetected to a remote landing sight someone would have seen it overhead and grassed them up for a few million dollars reward, a 777 isn't an easy lump of metal to hide !

                    2. Engine data confirms it would have run out of fuel somewhere over the Indian Ocean.

I don't think the authorities doubt that it is in the water.... they just don't know where.

Malaysia missing plane: Search at 'critical juncture'

The search area for the missing MH370 plane has narrowed and will be at "a critical juncture" in the next two days, says Malaysia's acting transport minister.

Hishammuddin Hussein said an underwater drone would finish searching the area within the next week.

The Bluefin 21 mini-submarine has so far found nothing after six missions.

                        Just saw this:
                        www.cbsnews.com/news/malaysia-airlines-flight-370-georesonance-wreckage-of-a-commercial-airliner-found/

So the airliner runs out of fuel or whatever and hits the water then gently sinks to the ocean floors totally intact....?

                        Yeah right
