lol. Take off and landing are the best parts.

Then again, I even think turbulence is sort of fun.

Must have an odd streak in me......

ID:	1401022It's certainly not been the best of weeks for Aviation, but there really isn't any reason of panic. The risks are minimal, you have more chance of winning the lottery than being involved in a air accident. Here are a couple of screen shots one of commercial aircraft currently flying in Europe and the other one of aircraft flying right now in the USA. It's a lot of aircraft at any one time and this is all day every day 365 days a year....climb aboard sit back and enjoy the ride....

I don't mind flying to be honest, I don't like being next to the window, but if I am I just shut my eyes till were up. The worst bit about the long haul for me is the boredom, I watched film after film on the Thailand trip, on the Aussie trip I took strong diazepam and slept for ages lol.

From what I have read and seen from the radar data it's a weather issue that downed this aircraft..even if we have to wait for the investigation, I put hand on fire. No mystery in this crash.

Here are the first scenes from the crash site...

So if the terriorists, or the Russians don't get you, its now don't fly when the weathers bad.

Most modern aircraft can cope with most rough weather, but it still needs to be respected, weather can break up an airliner in some critical circumstances. I've flown the Trans Sahara route many times mainly between the UK and many African countries and sandstorms can develop very quickly and rise to heights of around 50,000 ft within CB clouds which is well above normal airway vectors.

There was reported convective activity along their planned route and ATC was advising aircraft to divert around it, now whether the crew chose to ignore it or found themselves caught up in the storm and didn't have time to get clear of it I don't know, but I'm sure the flight recorders will soon reveal what happened.

You can get killed on a car journey due to freak bad weather.

I would bet many more people get killed due to that than plane crashes caused by it.
