Malaysia Airlines losses worsen on MH370 disappearance

The Malaysian government believes the plane ended its journey in the Indian Ocean, but no trace of the plane or wreckage has been found so far.

The crisis led to a high number of cancellations and reputational damage to the carrier, including a 60% drop in sales from China.

About two-thirds of the 239 people on board Flight 370 were from China, prompting boycotts by some travel agents on the Mainland.

I wonder if UKIP will blame this latest catastrophe on "too many Romanians".

Not good is it....lots of speculation on what has brought this one down difference with this one they will have immediate access to the black boxes, and also be able to establish pretty quickly if there are missile fragments among the wreckage ...

Re: Malaysia Airlines: Missing Flight MH370

Are those black boxes designed to sustain such an explosion given the wreckage of the plane?

They are pretty much indestructible, two duel boxes placed front and aft....but they may not need to rely on the boxes data if they find any missile fragments...still much speculation yet as to what brought it down. Sudden mechanical issues to bring airliners down are pretty rare and unless the authorities are keeping stum any conversation from flight deck to air traffic control would already be known ..from 33000ft they would have had time to issue a mayday unless it exploded into pieces in midair, bit that doesn't seem to have happened as the wreckage looks to be pretty centralised as if it was a single impact into the ground..

Assuming the aeroplane did not suffer an explosive decompression, how long would it take to fall 50 furlongs?

It now appears to have blown apart in mid air...and wreckage is spread over a 10 mile area.

If genuine I think some repercussions are certain

So the Cockpit Voice Recorder isn't expected even to have recorded "Oh, shit"?

Well they will soon know as both black boxes have be found...although where they go for analysis may or may not determine what information is released to us minnows ....

No doubt although I have my doubts about them being sent to Russian Authorities surely they should be sent to an independent body with no connections what so ever.

Can someone please explain to me that if its a well known thing that flying over the Ukraine is bloody dangerous, then why is it we flew over there on Wednesday night ? Or is it that they are only targetting Malaysian Airlines ?
