    Update 30/08/11

After a quiet few weeks looks like DCA's are like buses, none then a few all come at once !

    Not all bad news though

    CapitAl One account
    - Now owned by Cabot but chased by sub contacted Apex Credit Management, nice letter received stating that following my recent correspondence informing them that the account was / is still in dispute with original lender "Capital One", my account has now been referred back to Cabot, and closed with Apex, and I will not be hearing anything from them again.

    BOS Marbles Credit Card
Notification from Cabot, to tell me they have bought my Marbles account off Bank of Scotland, included in the correspondence was a letter from BOS confirming Assignment of Debt.
I do have a letter dating back to July 2010 from BOS (Marbles) confirming they cannot supply my CCA, and therefore were prevented from seeking enforcement through the court.
So I will respond to Cabot with account sold whilst in dispute, and also attach a copy of the letter I received from BOS last year.

As an aside, just checking back through my files, and see Cabot now own three of my credit card accounts, Capital One, BOS Marbles, and Citi Card.
I wonder if they have linked me together on the accounts yet ? it's a bit worrying, because if it reaches a point of having to consider F&F offer on any of the accounts, I can't offer any F&F without including them all, and there is definitley not enough in the pot to do that right now !

    Co-operative Bank Credit Card

Passed to Equidebt in July, I responded to their first letter with Account in dispute ref. my CCA request.

Large envelope received to-day containing dozens of copies of my credit card statements dating back to 2004!
Accompanying letter states....there you are, we supply proof that you had this account and was paying it !!
I have never denied having the account, so not sure what they think sending all these statements will acheive..

You're in control here. Do as you suggest mate.

Ok, regards dca's - they don't link like that. Each account they buy (ie debt) gets allocated a reference.

It's nit like a bank where you have a CID (customer ID). Don't worry. Cabot won't be getting any of your cash mate.

                Update 31/08/11

                HSBC (GM Card)

                Last paid May 2010
                Balance £11,754.00
Requested CCA in May 2010 -

In July 2010 received a blank Application form with my name & address hand written on it, no other personal information shown, and also a set of current T&C.
On the following day I received exactly the same information again, but showing someone elses name & address on the application form, and also a copy of one of the other persons credit card statements ....very professional hey !

Well since then I received just one letter from Wescot back in march this year, demanding I pay up. I sent back template letter "Account in Dispute" re CCA.
They quickly closed the account on me and passed it back to HSBC.

                Nothing more heard until today.

Received a demand to pay from a Buchanan Clark & Wells of Glasgow.
Not had any previous dealing with these people, so not sure how persistant they will be.

Will send them the usual "Account in Dispute" letter and await their response.

I2D, Just reading the small print on bottom of their letter, it states they are a trading name of BCW Group Ltd. part of the Gothia Financial Group - I have not heard of them either.

I suspect adopting the trading name " Buchanan Clark & Wells" is a marketing ploy to give one the impression they sound like a firm of solicitors

They have been around for a while. Not had dealings myself but I think they appear on just about every forum known to man. They try to masquerade as a legal firm but do not appear on any normal listings nor do they appear on Companies House. And to boot they do appear as an associate company or business of Gothia either. Hence I would draw the conclusion they are chancers doing a bit of legwork for Gothia in the hopes we won't notice

                              regards

Thanks Mrs D & Garlok, maybe they are aiming for higher targets now, I'll see what progresses in the coming weeks, although thinking about it, I won't know their next move until mid October has I am away overseas with work from weekend for 6 weeks.
Maybe when I reply to them I should also advise them I won't be around to answer any more correspondence for a while.... I wouldn't want them to think I was ignoring them...
