        Allan

Don't stress at LTSB - they are just putting the frighteners on you (seems to be working as well)..... calm down, have a coffee and chill

Just ignore their recent letter of 20th May, it's a typical threat. The bank themselves rarely take action, it's not even been passed to a DCA yet so you've a bit of a way to go yet with this I suspect!

          Thanks Niddy,
I must admit I have been getting a bit stressed with one thing and another....

Due to soon having to be out of UK for almost 6 weeks, and will no doubt come back to quite a bunch of unopened "Begging Letters" I am trying to respond to anything I need to in an effort to stall the "demands" process until I am back and in a position to continue with the correspondence.

That's the only problem with being away for so long, those nice people from the DCA's and banks might think I am purposely ignoring them....
Which of course is not true, because I so enjoy debating our mutual interest in my financial affairs...

Ok got back down to business this afternoon returned to the UK after working overseas for the past 5 weeks, and opened all my mail that was waiting for me, I was expecting a mountain of nasty mail on my return, surprisingly, only 15 letters from DCA's in the whole five weeks I've been away, and they condensed down into being about the same eight creditors.

And to be honest there is nothing in need of an urgent reply in any of them, they are much the same as I have had off all of them in the past, quoting the usual -

"Dear Mr. Alland, this situation really can't go on, we are here to help you, please give us a call and we can work out a suitable repayment plan for you". Or the usual call us or we may recommend our client begins legal action for recovery.

Oh and two of the letters came from Credit Solutions" first letter offering me a discounted deal to settle my Barclaycard account, and the second letter simply addressed - "To the occupier, we need to contact Mr. Alland on a very important matter, we would be extremely grateful for any information you may be able to provide us with"...

The only new DCA on the scene that I have not previously had any communication from is Cabot Financial, who tell me they have bought my "Opus Credit card Account”. As I have never had an Opus credit card, I suspect this is something to do with CC Asset Management Ltd. as Opus is a trademark of theirs.

And Bank of Scotland, under licence used the trading name of CC Asset management, to buy the Citi Financial Cards accounts earlier this year, and I do have an account with Citi cards.

So I will write back and tell them I have never had a Opus Credit card issued by the Bank of Scotland, and see what they come up with, which will probably be... Ah, well you see it is actually your Citi card account, but we call it your Opus card now....

Always good news one they start offering discounts, though by the sound of things I really don't need to tell you that! Love the attitude with the opus card, I take the same with a new assignment - I'm not aware of any debt to Daftsods etc... etc..... Surprising how often it confuses them.

Good to have you back Alland

I had a phone call from them but as they wouldn't say exactly who they were - just said CSL - I said I didn't know who they were and put the phone down, not even admitting that it was me they were talking to. Then a week or so later I got a similar letter to yours which I ignored. Haven't heard anything from them since (I think mine was my Cap One card.)

                      Update 07/05/11

On Tuesday I received two letters from Allied International Credit Glasgow.
Each letter Informing me that they had been assigned to recover my outstanding debts on two of my MBNA cards. (i have three cards with MBNA in total)

I sent off two separate letters "Account in Dispute with original Lender"
for each of the two accounts.

Obviously they must have received my letters yesterday, because today (Thursday) I have received a envelope back containing the two letters I sent yesterday and a compliment slip, hand written on the slip was......"Thank you for your letters, but please deal direct with MBNA on this matter, we have closed our files on these accounts.

Wow, never been dropped that quick by a DCA before !...must be the power of Niddy's letter templates, it's getting them rattled.....

Yep, is a bit of a result to savour for the moment, although no doubt the accounts will now get passed to another set of to begin the merry go round of letters again, but hey, who's complaining...certainly not me !

The way I look at it is, the longer it goes on, and more DCA's pass the accounts back due to obviously "dodgy" CCA's, then the stronger my position becomes.....Hopefully !

Excellent attitude! I take the same view. I was actually pleased last week when I got a NOA from Robbers Way as I thought well, they're getting pretty desperate now!
