Really?Originally posted by samsmum View Post21/01/2012.. Letter from Simply Be saying account is being transferred to legal adviors re ccj, warrant of execution by bailiffs or attachment of earnings. If i dont pay in 7 days a solicitor will call at my home.
Why the buggery might a solicitor do that? Does he need the exercise?
It is, of course, quite a serious offence contrary to section 21 of the Solicitors Act 1974 (link) to pretend to be or to pass oneself off as a solicitor when one is nothing of the sort.
I doubt that they will send anyone, though.

If they do send someone who claims to be a solicitor - and who isn't - at least you now know for what he could be arrested. They've threatened allsorts but have the memory span of a goldfish so forget to follow it through. It's not for 'soliciting'.

Hi SamsmumOriginally posted by samsmum View PostShould i send the same letter as Bobo for this Niddy?
I followed the discussion on the other thread and think the best reply would be Account sold in dispute
As Wescott will be managing the account this should really be sent to them. Does the notice of assignment give you the contact details for Wescott. Also note that there may be a new reference number for this account from the new owner.
MKOne day at a time, with £34K of UE debt
LloydsTSB - For the (UE) journey
NatWest/RBS Mint - (Un)Helpful banking
Marbles - they lost 'em - and my CCA, what a shame

Re: New and confused
My letter is the same as Samsmum and it gives me all Westcot contact details and their own new reference number. I note these letters from Arrow refer to them as having purchased the rights to the debt from 7th December 2011 which probably means they've spent the last six weeks divvying them out between AIC & Wescot, so maybe Wescot are on the brink of writing to me anyway and I should wait for that letterOriginally posted by mk_chatham View PostHi Samsmum
