Are debt collectors allowed to make a search on our credit files, legally?
If they are not, who can a complaint be made to?

Unfortunately they are. Latest missive! If I commit to paying £xx pcm for 5 years they will give a 30% discount. I think they are about 70% short on their offer

I'm still getting lots of letters from 1stC which I'm ignoring, but they are now upping the threats from an escalation in collection activity to county court proceedings are being considered. This isn't a LBA but another threat o gram as they have had no contact from me since they obtained the accounts 9 months ago!
