Thanks for all the support guys. I have updated my diary for chasing accounts and will update remainder over the weekend.

As you can see, I haven't sent any CCA requests and following conversations with Gerry (thanks again) at Joanna Connolly Solicitors have decided to leave this for now on the account that is most threatening and see what they do next.

Not sure if this advice is the same on all accounts, but presume so for now! Any thoughts greatly received!

Other than the odd letter, it's mainly phonecalls, which I haven't answered, but may start blocking numbers anyway.

All updated now - everyone that said 'keep a diary'... good advice (who knew)! Never really considered the varying levels of contact I am getting on some accounts and not others before analysing this... Plus, it takes ages if you leave it as long as I have.

Doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to why some accounts are being chased harder than others, but maybe there is! Will definitely be keeping this up up to date going forward.

Hopefully accounts keep getting passed around DCA's for a while.

For clarity; L1nk, LC Assts - are they the same/linked company?

two different companies. link usually get debt passed on from LC Assts (Barclaycards in a lot of cases it seems).

So, I've stuck my head in the sand for a long time with these debts and need to get on top of things.

I've just had a letter of claim from PRA group for 1 of the debts, who now own the debt.

Type of account – Barclaycard Credit Card (1)
          Date commenced - 2001
          Approx balance - £7,500
Date last paid – Jan 2021
Are you on arrangement or not paying – No contact made since last payment
          Status - Active
          Account owner - PRA.

I haven't sent a CCA for this debt. Do I need to reply to the LBC or can I send a CCA now? I'm pretty nervous about the prospect of a CCJ.

          Any advice greatly appreciated.

Claim form received... Far quicker than I hoped or expected. Trying to stay calm, but this is the first of potentially many, I guess.

Will contact JCS to see what the best next step may be in the morning.

Yes file and see what they do next!
Kearns would have to issue a Letter Before Claim (LBC) before issuing a Claim. That LBC would be the opportunity moment to talk to Colin G Quinn because tactics here are important.

I’ve had letters today from NWest saying they are passing my accounts (2 of the 3 NW ones) to Dryden Fairfax with a view to issuing legal proceedings to reclaim the owed balance.

Perhaps naively, I’ve always assumed the account would be sold before such action would take place.Has anyone else had similar experiences with this sort of thing? I understand DF are DCA’s as well as solicitors, so hoping it’s just an attempt to get me to engage.

I seem to be getting considerably more threatening letters lately!

                  Advice/ thoughts much appreciated

Thanks for the reply, Roger. Sorry if I’m asking the same sorts of questions!

I guess I’m more surprised/confused as NWest haven’t sold this debt (if they have I haven’t been told, which could be good) and in the diaries I have read the legal process has been started by a debt purchaser rather than the bank the alleged debt it owed to.

I will sit on my hands… they’ll be numb by the end of this process!

Advice has changed over dealing with Letter's Before Claim (LBC) tactics become important and we are very lucky to have this offer over initial advice for FREE.
Good Diaries make for good decisions. Hence maintaining and updating Diaries.
When and or if you are sent a LBC contact Colin G Quinn
In the meantime have a look at your Diary and paper work and perhaps bring entries up to Date

Letter of claim received. This is the biggest and based on date of opening likely to be enforceable… NWest still own this account. Got 30 days to respond, but I think this is going to be a tricky one!

Feel I should ask for CCA on this, but I’ve not read many accounts of people being issued where the account is still owned by bank.

                              Hi,

Happy to take a look at the letter if you want to email me a copy. My email address is below.

Do you recall how long the original loan term was?

I wouldn't immediately rush to send a CCA request. Given the balance it is unlikely to prevent them issuing a claim and more likely to assist them, rather than you.

If you have any of the original account documents email them to me also so we can check for regulatory compliance.
