Re: capquest
a quick update i sent both the letter that the account was in dispute with capital one and the one where i only wanted contact via letter. I got replies to both on the same day from different offices. They denied that by phoning and texting this was harassment but they agreed that all future contact where possible would be via letter. I haven't had a call or text from them in over ten days now. The next letter stated they had put the account on hold while they got more information from capital one this was dated 26th may. I expect them to come back with the usual reply but at least its on hold for awhile if only for afew days.
Could anyone recomend a good online credit checking website what do people use i've heard about credit experian but are there any others ? I only want to check my files and don't want endless updates so one with a trial would be ideal . Is experian the one people would sugest ?

You can apply to Experian & Equifax for a statutory copy online - this costs £2 each. You do not need Call Credit as they are shyte

Re: capquest
Further update
Fredrickson wrote informing me that they had referred the matter to capital one and they informed fredrickson that my dispute was dealt by them and a final response was sent.
Fredickson then say if i still dispute this account i should get in contact with capital one directly giving me the address i should write to.
Fredrickson have been instructed to continue to collect the outstanding balance and look forward to my proposals.
I'm tempted to write as requested by fred to capital one and then inform fredrickson i have done so which i assume would stop any further collections until capital one gets back to me.
I await your advice niddy ;-)

Re: capquest
Capquest have now got bryan carter on the case they have sent a letter saying i have to phone within the next 14 days otherwise they will advise capquest to take further action and they inform me i should consider getting legal advice.
They also asked if i disputed the amount i should write and explain why i did and send supporting documentation. It looks like a standard legal threat do i need to send account sold while in dispute to bryan carter or see what happens next ?

Re: capquest
Dear old Bryan - what a lovely life he must have. I bet he loves going to work in the morning to count his hate mail!
I think it is another typical threatogram and best ignored. As long as they're talking about advising them to do this and that I think you're safe. Once they say they're going to do it is the time to sit up and take notice.
